Mythical Goat and Erzuli Dantor. This fantastic piece features an anthropomorphic goat and a veve representing the Erzuli Dantor, the Fierce Mother spirit of Haitian Voodoo. Often thought of as dark and dangerous, Voodoo is a complex set of religious practices drawn from tribal West Africa. It recognizes a supreme being, Bondye, but day-to-day worship is addressed to the spirits, both the fearsome and the benevolent. For a finely worked piece of art with cultural depth, this one has it ALL! Size 60cm.
