Lapti are the traditional bast shoes of the Russian villages. They were widely used for many centures and even 100 years ago lapti were worn in every Russian village, but today its very hard to find anyone wearing them. In general they are used only for the special occasions, like celebrations or costume shows. Furthermore already not many Russian people know the technique of making them. At this point lapti became one of Russian symbols and also collectionable item.
The internal size is 24 cm (~9.5 inches), I also have some units of bigger size - 25 cm (~10 inches), send me message after purchase if you prefer to receive lapti of bigger size.
